The Cuero Development Council (CDC) selected a local candidate with experience in business relations and entrepreneurship to fill Bobby Seiferman’s executive director position as he prepares for his role as Matagorda County Judge.
The CDC Board of Directors limited the pool of 15 applicants down for a round of in-person interviews at the Aug. 9 special meeting. The Board approved extending an offer to Maggie Cromeens Aug. 18; Board President Tyler McClellan reported she accepted the position by Aug. 19.
“(She’s) very high energy, very passionate; you can see that come across. (She has) the love for Cuero. She grew up here, was raised here, moved away and brought her family back…,” said McClellan of Cromeens. “You can see she wants to see Cuero succeed. She wants to make a career out of it, live here and raise her family here.”
The Board approved a start date of Sept. 6 for Cromeens with plans for Seiferman to aid in the transition. She plans to use her work experience at Texas Workforce Commission and familiarity with local businesses in her position as the executive director.
“I am so excited, but I am also so very humbled that I get to come back and do this,” said Cromeens.
