Leslie Mees described the key concept behind the establishment as “innovative and economically conscious” and a place where “you will be able to recharge your car outside, while recharging your mind, body, and soul inside (in a) welcoming ambience and entertaining atmosphere.” Features will include a gelato shop, tap room, and commercial kitchen, and the sale of local artisanal goods, beer and wine and other non-perishable specialty items with a local flavor. Details about the electric vehicle quick-charging station especially created a stir of excitement among attendees. The city currently has a Level 2 EV charger in the parking area behind Main Street, but the Creamery’s Freewire Level 3 equipment would be the town’s first station capable of fully charging an EV within 30 minutes. Leslie Mees said, and several members of the group agreed, that this would be a significant draw for visitors to the city. Ms. Osman began with an update on the Christmas in Downtown Cuero event taking place over the weekend and she acknowledged community sponsors and participating businesses. - [Meet Our December 2022 Community Leaders’ Meeting Guest Speaker](https://cuerodc.com/news/meet-our-december-2022-community-leaders-meeting-guest-speaker/): Since coming from Austin to work for the City of Cuero in June, 2013, Sandra Tague Osman has worked extensively in the Building Department as an Administrative Coordinator and has been involved in Planning and Development matters, playing an instrumental part in getting the Unified Development Code (UDC) adopted in 2015 and obtaining Scenic City Gold Status in 2017. She has worked with an Infill Development Committee in contemplating development options, assisted in drafting a Vacant Buildings and Property (Historic Downtown District) Registry ordinance and coordinated matters before the Planning and Zoning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustments and Building and Standards Commission.
